Refund policy.

Fourteen days, no questions, on every charge including renewals. Everything else on this page is the edges around that sentence.

The short version

Full refund within 14 days of a first purchase or a renewal, no questions asked, no forms. After 14 days, refunds are handled case by case and we are not unreasonable. Cancel any time and keep access to the end of the period you paid for.

The rest of this document exists because “no questions asked” needs edges drawn around it. Nothing below narrows the paragraph above for a normal first purchase.

02

The 14-day window

Every paid plan carries a 14-day refund window from the moment the charge is taken. That applies to your first subscription and to every renewal charge afterwards, which matters because renewals are the charges people forget about.

Ask within the window and we refund the full amount to the original payment method. We do not ask why, we do not require you to justify how much of the product you used, and we do not offer credit in place of money unless you would prefer it.

  • →Request from Settings → Subscription, or email billing@dsauniversity.com.
  • →We process within 3 business days of receiving the request.
  • →Your bank typically takes a further 5 to 10 business days to show it.
  • →Access reverts to the free Audit plan when the refund is processed.
03

After 14 days

Outside the window there is no automatic entitlement, but we would rather resolve a genuine problem than keep money from someone who is unhappy. In practice we grant a full or partial refund in these situations.

  • →A fault on our side materially prevented you from using what you paid for — extended downtime, a broken judge, content that never shipped.
  • →You were charged twice for the same period.
  • →A renewal was taken after you had cancelled, or after a cancellation request we failed to process.
  • →You bought the wrong plan and contacted us before substantially using it.
  • →Bereavement, serious illness, or another circumstance where insisting on the letter of the policy would be indecent.

Refunds granted outside the window are usually prorated for the unused portion of the period. Where the cause was a fault on our side, the refund is full.

04

Cancelling versus refunding

These are different actions and it is worth being precise about which you want.

  • →Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep full access to the end of the period you have already paid for. No money moves.
  • →Refunding returns money for a charge already taken. Access ends when the refund is processed, not at the end of the period.

Cancel any time in Settings → Subscription. Cancellation takes effect immediately for billing purposes; there is no notice period and no cancellation fee.

05

What you keep either way

Downgrading to Audit is not a reset. Your account and its history survive.

  • →Every problem you solved stays solved.
  • →Your notes remain yours, remain private, and remain exportable in full.
  • →Your contest history and rating stay on your profile.
  • →Your streak continues, because the free plan can sustain it.
  • →You lose written editorials, the visualizers, rated contest entry, the interview simulator, and offline downloads.
06

Campus and institutional contracts

Campus agreements are governed by the signed contract, not by this page, and that contract takes precedence wherever the two differ. Unless it says otherwise, the following applies.

  • →Term contracts are refundable pro rata for unused full months if terminated for cause.
  • →Seats added mid-term are prorated to the term end date.
  • →Unused seats are not refundable but are reassignable within the term at no cost.
  • →Purchase-order and invoice arrangements follow the payment terms in the contract.
07

What is not refundable

  • →Periods already elapsed, beyond the 14-day window, where there was no fault on our side.
  • →Accounts terminated for a breach of the terms of use, including plagiarism or contest cheating.
  • →Charges disputed with your bank before contacting us — once a chargeback is opened we lose the ability to resolve it directly, and the account is suspended until it closes.
  • →Third-party purchases made through an app store, which are governed by that store's own refund policy.

If you are about to open a chargeback, please email billing@dsauniversity.com first. It is almost always faster, and it does not suspend your account.

08

How to request a refund

  • →In the product — Settings → Subscription → Request refund. Fastest route.
  • →By email — billing@dsauniversity.com from the address on the account, quoting the invoice number.
  • →Through the contact form — pick “Billing or refunds”.

You do not need to explain yourself inside the 14-day window. Outside it, a sentence about what went wrong helps us route it and usually helps you.

09

Statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under consumer law in [YOUR JURISDICTION]. Where local law grants a longer cooling-off period or a stronger remedy, that law applies and this policy does not override it.

Questions about this document

Refund requests go to billing@dsauniversity.com, or Settings → Subscription. Inside the window you do not need to give a reason.
